Overview
ParishPress gives a church a website that reads as warm, calm, and welcoming — a plum-and-gold palette, editorial headlines, service times right in the header, and clear ‘get involved’ paths, with none of the stock-steeple clichés. A hybrid Gutenberg theme, not a page-builder starter.
Everything a church needs is modeled in native WordPress: ministries, get-involved paths, team, sermons & blog, and locations as first-class content types with shared taxonomies — no ACF, no Elementor, no third-party form plugin.
Planning a visit is the emphasized path, service times sit in the header, and a governed events & service-times page fails closed — an event only shows verified when its source and reviewer are present.
Plan-your-visit path
A welcoming visit form — real validation and a success state — with service times surfaced in the header.
Governed events & times
Events and service times fail closed — an item only shows verified when its source and reviewer are present.
Sermons & stories
A sermons & blog archive and gentle, anonymized stories give the community a warm, human voice.
Self-hosted fonts
Newsreader, Source Sans 3, and IBM Plex Mono served locally — zero Google-CDN calls, GDPR-friendly.
Accessible & translation-ready
WCAG 2.2 AA intent throughout, every string internationalized, escaped output and sanitized input.
